Teenagers

In this project I wanted to depict the different aspects of a teenager’s personality.

Typically, this is when teenagers begin dropping the "f" bomb to the parents simply believing that the authorities are thick and lack the ability to truly understand. Needless to say, the unworldly adults cannot, in the slightest, grasp the mere idea of how dramatic and serius the world really is.

"I mean hello you guys!? There are wars out there, like people dying? Yeah like every day! Why are you sitting here doing nothing about it!??! Urg you guys are the worst parents EVER!" Entertaining and slightly ridiculous to say the least! Yet the pendulum swings in both directions as parents can struggle to communicate with teens who seem disinterested, unmotivated and removed from reality. The disconnect represents something deeper, an attempt to cope with changing internal identities, emotions and responsibilities.

I'm more interested in those teens that parents just can't seem to understand. The ones that are "lazy", a fatal word to all mothers out there that will eventually drive them to hysterical madness of incomprehension due to frustration (bless).

Why are they lazy? What are they really hiding? Because of these questions, I created this project. I wanted to show, mainly parents, that there is more than meets the eye to the difficult teen. If someone lies about their life or hides from exposure, it stems from a deeper place of turmoil within the person; a fear of sharing and confiding in the parent the internal struggles they face. A big thanks to my brother for playing the role
